About
PhotoCraft is an early-alpha, clean-room reimplementation of Adobe Photoshop in Rust with layers, masks, adjustment layers, layer styles, type and vector tools, a brush engine and PSD/PSB read/write at 8/16/32-bit. It runs natively on macOS, Windows, Linux and FreeBSD and in the browser via WebAssembly, and exposes 500+ commands to a CLI, a JSON control channel and an MCP server so AI agents can drive it. It is the flagship of the ArtCraft 'Crafting Apps' suite and reached 32k GitHub stars within days of its October 2026 release.
